 VIDEO OF THE DAY

This past weekend I went to a pattern meet in Goshen NY. One of the best pilots in the country, Dave Lockhart, was there, and I managed to get his routine on video.

This is the international level "FAI". It begins after a couple passes and a cuban 8 to get into position, then a rolling loop with 2 rolls, in reversed directions. It ends with two snaps on a down line in opposite directions and I'm amazed at how pretty he makes them and how he ends up perfectly on his line. Note: the takeoff procedure is a different pilot with a different plane(glow)- Dave is seen after that with his electric.

Indoor Flying Rocks!
Fourth of July RCCR Picnic !
THE annual family picnic celebrating Independence Day,  All family members are invited !
Greg invites RCCR members and their families to the pond at 57-B Long Pond Rd, (enter at Plane Lane) Rochester NY 14612, 585-225-6461. A grill will be available for anything (within reason) which you bring to heat and eat for lunch. It's a day of fun and float flying. Bring your plane to fly, and fly it off the water. If you just want to watch, it's fun, but you'll wish you had a plane on floats also. Noon until all the food is gone, the flying is over, and none of us can stand one-another any more!! Usually there are firewords around the pond at dusk - a good show.

Refuel Fill Valves by Jim Kale
I have noticed many having problems with refuel fill valves for the last couple of years. It is just my opinion; however, many of the refuel valves that require a special plug to be inserted into a special jack just don’t work too well in the long run. Valves such as the DuBro quick fill often seem to work well in the beginning, but in a year or two, they become difficult to connect, possibly leak, can easily get dirt and debris into your fuel system when you connect the refill fittings, etc. When they have a problem like this, they often cause lots of difficulty, frustration, and bad language at the flying field.

Air Force Test

This will drive you nuts!! Have fun!
The object of the game is to move the red block around
Without  getting  hit by the blue blocks or touching the black walls.

If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal. It's been Said that the US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots. They are Expected to go for at least 2 minutes.

Give it a try but be careful...it is addictive!!

After watching the video, it occurred to me that, while it is very specific in its focus on Superfund sites, it will also be of value to our members and clubs that are approaching all landowners asking for access to land to be used as a model airplane flying facility. The video runs for about 11 minutes.

Major Chaos keeps 'em flying !

" ... Perhaps the most moving display was a tribute to Dan Landis and all those involved with our military programs, flown by Lynn Bowerman. Dan is a civilian RC enthusiast who is now using his  skills to fly UAVs in Afghanistan in support of our troops.  Narrated by "Papa Jeff" Ring while clad in full camos, the sight of a Predator RQ-1 UAV orbiting the field gave reason for many present to consider our freedoms and brought lumps to a lot of throats."    FLY RC Magazine January 2009 page 26.

Protect flight electrical components for float flying with ACF-50, a state-of-the-art compound for controlling corrosion on aircraft electrical and avionics systems and airframes.
